This is the third instalment in Blancmange’s exploration of ambient music, experimental soundscapes and imaginary film soundtracks.
Written and recorded in 2019 and early 2020, Nil By Mouth III flows between the dark, cinematic and dreamlike but always with a subtle sense of atmosphere in the arrangements.
Some moments are lit with an optimistic shimmer, while the darker tracks possess an evocative atmospheric drift, like haunting memories from a distant future . . .

A Secret Wish is still an album I play to this day. It has never waned. I actually think it has got better with age. I'm not a fan generally of live recordings but this is one I love listening to. And Disziplin is on here too. Just as I remember it on The Tube. Who could ask for anything more? Just wish I would have been there but this is the next best thing. ❤ bazgray
